Interpol & Morrissey

I loved Interpol- they are one of my faves. I saw them once years ago and was reminded that I would like to see them do a whole concert again- they are tight musicians. Great choice of Morrissey having them open for him- however, they are a big band so it was surprising- at least to me. Morrissey has a beautiful voice and I love many of his songs. There has always been a duality with Morrissey it is like he likes and hates his audience at the same time. He will sing a lovely song - compliment us and then show some very disturbing images on the screen without explanation. One film I know was used to incite people to advocate for the humane treatment of animals...and humans, for that matter. I get it, but it was jarring nonetheless- let him be provocative- I know that is his thing. The final image that he had on repeat was less definable and many people assumed that he would be returning to the stage to do another song- since he only did one encore tune and it wasn't even a super popular one- he even went through the process of changing his jacket and shirt so I assumed we would get at least 2 to 4 additional songs out of him- nope. Overall, I still love Morrissey's voice, but I may not go to another one of his shows- I would, however, see Interpol again
